VCDS Upgrade: Options for Registered Users

For registered VCDS (VAG-COM) users, Ross-Tech offers several Vcds Upgrade programs. These programs provide substantial discounts on current Ross-Tech products. This article outlines the available upgrade options. Note: New customers or unregistered users are not eligible for these programs. Only registered users with a genuine Ross-Tech interface purchased directly from Ross-Tech, an authorized distributor, or those with a VCDS-Lite license or an older VAG-COM version qualify.

VCDS Upgrade Paths: From Old to New

Several VCDS upgrade paths exist depending on your current setup. Determine your current interface and desired upgrade using the options below:

Upgrading from VCDS-Lite with a 3rd Party Interface

If you have a VCDS-Lite license and a third-party interface, you can upgrade to the full version of VCDS with a current Ross-Tech interface. This upgrade provides access to the complete functionality of VCDS with a compatible and supported hardware platform.

Upgrading from VCDS-Lite with an Older Ross-Tech Interface

Users with a VCDS-Lite license and an older Ross-Tech “Dumb” Interface (ISO-COM, MAX-COM, UNI-COM, TWIN-COM, BI-COM) can upgrade to the full version of VCDS with a newer Ross-Tech interface. This offers significant improvements in performance, compatibility, and features compared to the older hardware.

Upgrading from an Older Ross-Tech Dongle Interface

If you have an older Ross-Tech Dongle Interface (HEX-COM, HEX-USB, KEY-COM, KEY-USB, KII-USB, Micro-CAN, or HEX+CAN), you’re eligible for a VCDS upgrade to a newer Ross-Tech Interface. This ensures compatibility with the latest vehicle models and access to the newest VCDS features.

Upgrading from a Ross-Tech HEX+CAN Interface

Owners of a Ross-Tech HEX+CAN Interface (HEX-USB+CAN or HEX-COM+CAN) can upgrade to the full version of VCDS and VCDS-Mobile with a HEX-NET interface. This upgrade provides wireless connectivity and mobile device compatibility for greater flexibility in vehicle diagnostics.

Adding VIN Licenses to a Limited Enthusiast Interface

Users with a Limited VIN Enthusiast Interface (HEX-NET or HEX-V2) can purchase additional VIN licenses to expand the number of vehicles they can diagnose. This is a cost-effective solution for users who need to work on more vehicles.
