Autel XStar Premium eBay: Repair Costs and Customer Service Concerns

Autel drone repairs can be costly, especially when compared to competitor DJI. One user experienced a crash due to a suspected product defect, not pilot error. Autel requires users to send in their drones for repair, then charges high prices for replacement parts, even for older models. For instance, they wouldn’t repair a damaged camera but instead insisted on replacing the entire camera assembly.

This contrasts sharply with the readily available and affordable parts for DJI drones on platforms like eBay. A new 4K camera gimbal assembly for a DJI Phantom 3 can be found for $199. Even full motherboard and motor replacements for a DJI Phantom 3 Standard cost only $129, with brand new parts.

The user’s frustration stems from Autel seemingly blaming the customer for a crash caused by a potential product defect and their expensive repair policies. The lack of easily accessible and affordable parts, coupled with potentially poor customer service, raises concerns about Autel’s long-term viability in the consumer drone market. The limited range of drone models further adds to these concerns. While some may be drawn to Autel XStar Premium deals on eBay, potential buyers should consider these factors before making a purchase.
