Autel Robotics made a significant impact at CES 2020 with the introduction of the EVO II series, a groundbreaking line of foldable drones designed to challenge industry leaders. The EVO II boasts impressive specifications and features, positioning itself as a powerful competitor in the consumer and professional drone market.
The EVO II series builds upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, the EVO, which was released in 2018. While the original EVO sought to rival DJI’s Mavic, the EVO II aims to surpass the capabilities of the Mavic 2 series. Autel focused on significantly enhancing key performance indicators, including flight time, speed, and camera technology.
One of the standout features of the EVO II is its extended flight time. With a reported 40 minutes of flight time on a single charge, the EVO II surpasses other foldable drones, offering extended aerial capabilities for various applications. Autel also claims a top speed of 45 mph and a maximum transmission range of 9 km, potentially exceeding the performance of the Mavic 2 Pro in both speed and range.
Autel Robotics showcased three distinct EVO II variants at CES 2020, each equipped with a unique camera system: the EVO II, EVO II Pro, and EVO II Dual. This modular design allows users to customize their drone based on specific needs and upgrade camera modules without replacing the entire drone.
The standard EVO II features a 1/2″ sensor capable of capturing impressive 8K video and 48MP still images. The EVO II Pro boasts a 1″ sensor with an adjustable aperture, enabling professional-grade 6K video recording. Finally, the EVO II Dual integrates a FLIR Boson thermal imaging sensor alongside the standard 8K camera, providing advanced thermal imaging capabilities for industrial and commercial applications.
Beyond the camera systems, all EVO II models incorporate advanced obstacle avoidance sensors for enhanced safety and maneuverability. They also include 8GB of internal storage with microSD card support for expanded storage capacity. Autel has integrated powerful AI technology and subject tracking capabilities into the EVO II series, providing intelligent flight modes and autonomous features.
Autel offered the EVO II series in various configurations at CES 2020, including stand-alone drone packages and comprehensive combo kits with additional accessories. Optional accessories like the FoxFury Lighting System expand the drone’s usability in low-light conditions.
