Autel US, Inc., a leading developer and distributor of automotive diagnostic tools and accessories, has experienced remarkable growth under the leadership of CEO Chloe Hung. This Farmingdale State College alumna has taken the company from its humble beginnings in a house behind a gas station to a team of nearly 150 employees in just 12 years. Autel Farmingdale’s success story is a testament to hard work, determination, and the power of a Farmingdale education.
Hung’s journey began when she immigrated to the United States from Hong Kong at the age of 17. Not even knowing how to drive, she enrolled at Farmingdale State College (FSC) and pursued a degree in Management Technology. The supportive environment at FSC, which she described as “cozy,” allowed her to thrive. She actively engaged in campus life, co-founding an Asian student club and benefiting from the accessibility of professors and resources.
Her bilingual skills in English and Chinese proved crucial in landing her a job at Autel in 2011. As employee number two, Hung played a pivotal role in the company’s early development, handling everything from packaging and shipping to accounting. This hands-on experience provided her with invaluable knowledge of every facet of the business.
Today, Autel Farmingdale is a thriving company with a constantly expanding product line, including cutting-edge electric vehicle chargers. Hung actively seeks skilled employees in sales, tech support, and customer service, particularly those with backgrounds in automotive technology and information technology. FSC graduates are among her top choices for recruitment, highlighting the value of a Farmingdale education in the automotive industry.
Hung’s ambitious plans for Autel include expanding the company, potentially opening a U.S. manufacturing facility, and eventually going public within the next three to five years. She credits her business management skills acquired at FSC as foundational to her success, proudly stating, “Without a doubt, I’m here because of Farmingdale.” Autel Farmingdale’s continued growth is a testament to Hung’s leadership and the strong foundation she built at Farmingdale State College.
